Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is characterized by the presence of anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA antibodies in patient sera. In 2002, anti-epidermal transglutaminase (eTG) antibodies have been identified in DH patients. Nowadays, their role is still controversial.
