This papers deals with the question of the influence of a monopoly of vertices, seeking to gain the majority in local neighborhoods in a graph. Say that a vertex v is r-controlled by a set of vertices M if the majority of its neighbors at distance r are from M. We ask how large must M be in order to r-monopolize the graph, namely, r-control...

We show that the edges of the modi ed Kn odel graph can be grouped into dimensions which are similar to the dimensions of hypercubes. In particular, routing, broadcasting and gossiping, can be done easily in modi ed Kn odel graphs using these dimensions.

In this paper, we analyze a highly distributed backup stor- age system realized by means of nano datacenters (NaDa). NaDa have been recently proposed as a way to mitigate the growing energy, band- width and device costs of traditional data centers, following the popu- larity of cloud computing. These service provider-controlled peer-to-peer...

We consider the following Minimum Connectivity Inference problem (MCI), which arises in structural biology: given vertex sets V i ⊆ V, i ∈ I, find a graph G = (V,E) minimizing the size of the edge set E, such that the sub-graph of G induced by each V i is connected. This problem arises in structural biology, when one aims at finding the...

ISP networks are taking a leap forward thanks to emerging technologies such as Software Defined Networking(SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV). Efficient algorithms considered too hard to be put in practice on legacy networks now have a second chance to be considered again. In this context, we rethink the ISP network dimensioning...
