The project ITALGEO '90 is approaching its conclusion with the production of a national gravimetric geoid for Italy. Statistical analysis of the data and the results compared with GPS and spirit levelling show a significant improvement over the previously available gravimetric geoid estimation.

A combined seismic and gravimetric interpretation in the Northern Apennines area (Italy) is presented. To the knowledge of the authors, this is one of the few attempts to apply tomographic methodology to a seismic refraction profile.
