We present velocity maps of Jupiter obtained from the ground with a dedicated Doppler imaging spectrograph. It demonstrates the potential of this method to study the motion in the atmosphere of gaseous planets. It proves to be complementary to cloud-tracking to understand the atmospheric dynamics
