An investigation of the recently developed numerical technique based on both the finite‐element time‐domain (FETD) method and the finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) method is presented. This hybrid technique, exploiting the advantages of both methods, seems very promising. Validation through comparison with the 2‐D canonical problem, as well...

A wireframe implementation of the method of moments in time domain is presented, with particular attention to wire junctions. Peculiar base and weight functions will be defined at the junctions to implicitly account for current continuity and correctly take into account inter-wire coupling. This will allow implementation of both an explicit and...

This paper describes the development of an antenna synthesis procedure for determining the optimal location of 2D array configurations. An inverse scattering algorithm based on a conjugate gradient method is used. The influence of noise-corrupted data on the results is investigated

State-of-the-art radomes exploit frequency selective mediaso as to be transparent for the frequencies of the antenna protectedby them and opaque to other frequencies. This feature helps inreducing the radar cross section of the antenna and in protecting it frominterference. The study of a frequency selective radome is a dauntingtask, since the...

In this paper, we describe a method based on an integral formulation of the EM problem for finding the solution of an inverse scattering problem, which is the optimal location of 3D or 2D multiple metallic objects or multi-antenna systems from imposed constraints (e.g. radiation patterns). Different configurations are studied from synthetic data.

In this paper, we present the results of a method for optimizing multi-antenna systems from imposed constraints (e.g. ideal radiation patterns at a single frequency or over a wide frequency range). The method is based on a surface integral formulation of the forward EM problem and a gradient method for minimizing a cost functional. The...
