Occupational Risk Management for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Current Status and Perspectives
Description
Ergonomic and psychosocial risks in the workplace have become a growing concern in the industry. The lack of management and control can have a significant impact on the health and well-being of workers. Specifically, one of the challenges related to sustainable development goals regarding diversity and equality in the workplace is the inclusion of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In this context, the present study constitutes a bibliographic review of scientific production related to risk management in work environments involving individuals with autism. The objective is to understand the current state of the topic by characterizing bibliographic records indexed in the Scopus and WOS databases. Microsoft Excel, OriginPro, and VOSviewer were employed for data analysis and visualization. The results indicate that techniques and methods for designing and evaluating occupational risks for populations with special needs are limited. Therefore, developing a methodology for occupational risk management that incorporates responsible and inclusive practices regarding individuals with ASD emerges as a promising avenue for research.
