Integration of electric mobility services within an existing polygeneration microgrid

Description

The objective of the present paper is the definition of an optimization model for the upgrade of a smart energy infrastructure, which involves photovoltaic fields, electrical storage systems, loads and integrates new electric mobility services such as e-buses and electric car sharing services. The optimization model is solved in order to minimize the costs related to the installation and maintenance of the considered technologies and the costs due to the energy exchange with the public grid which the district is connected to, while maximizing the revenues from the mobility services. The real case study of Savona Campus, in Italy, is analyzed, where data about the mobility demand have been collected through a survey, specifically devised for the Campus users. Technical results are reported and discussed in the paper, together with some economic considerations.
