Adapting teaching practice to POM undergraduate requirements
Description
The university system is at present undergoing a period of change and renovation in order to face up and respond to the important challenges that the appearance of new learning requirements present, and to come to grips with the process of European convergence. A number of different viewpoints have to be taken into account in this process, one of the most relevant being that of the student. This paper therefore analyses the vision the Business Administration student has of a specific business area: Production and Operations Management (POM). To this end, a survey has been conducted of 620 students with a view to determining, amongst other things, the importance they place on the study of POM, their job preferences within the different business areas, and the difficulties they encounter in the study of the subject. The aim of this research is to provide greater knowledge of the student's learning requirements in order to improve the teaching of the subject.
