Factores sociodemográficos de actividad física. Relación con el uso problemático de redes sociales en adolescentes

Un uso abusivo e inadecuado de las redes sociales puede estar relacionado con la aparición de diferentes problemas y riesgos durante la adolescencia. El objetivo de este estudio es conocer el uso de las redes sociales y aplicaciones de comunicación de adolescentes de un centro educativo, los posibles conflictos con factores intrapersonales e interpersonales a estas herramientas y su relación con el nivel de actividad física (AF). El uso abusivo de redes sociales y de AF se determinaron mediante el uso de cuestionarios (Cuestionario de Experiencias Relacionadas con Internet y Cuestionario de Actividad Física para Adolescentes, respectivamente). Los resultados muestran que existe una influencia sobre el factor intrapersonal de M = 1,96 (DS = 0,596), y sobre el factor interpersonal de M = 1,927 (DS = 0,533), que se manifiesta en comportamientos como la necesidad de revisar continuamente sus redes sociales, buscar evadirse de sus problemas utilizando estas herramientas o retirarse de otras actividades para estar conectado a Internet un tiempo más prolongado. Existen diferencias significativas de género en factores intra e interpersonal, siendo las chicas quiénes utilizan con mayor frecuencia estas herramientas. No existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre uso abusivo y el nivel de AF.

Abstract

An abusive and inappropriate use of the Internet and social networks and can be related to the appearance of different problems and risks during adolescence. The objective of this study is to know the use of social networks and communication applications of adolescents of an educational center, to identify their possible intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts and their relationship with the level of physical activity (PA). The intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts and the level of PA are determined through the use of questionnaires (Internet Related Experiences Questionnaire and Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents). The results show that there is an intrapersonal factor of M = 1.96 (SD = 0.596), and an interpersonal factor of M = 1.927 (DS = 0.533), which manifests itself in behaviors such as the need to continually review their social networks; use these resources to escape from problems. There are significant differences in terms of gender in intra and interpersonal dependence. There is no relationship between the problematic use of social network and level of PA.
