Possible detection of the 17KeV neutrino signal in electron capture

The existence of the 17 keV neutrino can be tested by measuring the ratio P(K)/P(L) of orbital electron capture probabilities from K and L electronic shells in allowed transitions to different nuclear final states. Ba-133 is a suitable candidate. A precise value of Q(EC) is needed. We suggest a method of determining Q(EC) independent on electron capture.
