«Ed ella credette, partorì un feto abortito e il dolore scomparve»: le vite interrotte della lussuria

Description

The hagiographic tradition received at the Legenda aurea attributes to the Apostle Andrew the miracle of giving birth to a sinful woman who could not unburden. The outcome of the miracle is questionable: the severe pain cease but a child is born dead. The explanation of the moral of the episode is to be found in the spirituality of the original apocryphal Acts of Andrew, developed by Gregory of Tours in Liber miraculorum b. Andreae apostoli.
