Description

The Italian Psychiatry was born when Europe is attempting to organize, from consolidation of the hegemony of the bourgeois class, specialized structures for particular groups of people (prisons, Civil and Psychiatric Hospitals, orphanages). In November 1908 the County Council of Genova, approved the general plan of the provincial asylum in Pratozanino, near Cogoleto. It can accommodate 2,400 people.
