Las redes sociales y los nuevos movimientos estudiantiles latinoamericanos. La "Primavera Chilena" y el "Yosoy132"

Este artículo examina en clave comparada el rol de las redes sociales en la "Primavera chilena" y el movimiento "#YoSoy132". En primer lugar, se propone un marco descriptivo para comprender ambos movimientos en su contexto latinoamericano y, en segundo lugar, se analiza el rol de diferentes plataformas on-line (Facebook, Twitter y YouTube) en la implosión de los movimientos. Los resultados evidenciaron que en Chile las redes sociales fueron "instrumentales", mientras que en México fueron "determinantes".

Abstract

This comparative paper examines the role of social media in the "Chilean Spring" and in the "#YoSoy132" movement. First, it proposes a descriptive framework to approach both movements in a Latin American context. Second, paying special attention to the implosion of the movements. An analysis of the use of different online platforms (Facebook, Twitter and Youtube) is proposed. The results showed that in Chile social networks were "instrumental" while in Mexico were "decisive".
