Description
This paper presents the radiation pattern measurement of a monopole installed on a large structure (carrier) in non anechoic environment. Proposed method is based on Cylindrical Modes Coefficients (CMC) decomposition and modal filtering to suppress reflections. First Cylindrical Near to Far Field Transformation and CMCs computing are described. An association of cylindrical near-field to far-field and modal filtering is applied to get the true far-field of a monopole installed on an aircraft on the ground. Simulation results at low angle of elevation (theta=90°,80°,70°) are compared at 88 MHz between the radiation pattern of reference, that is the far field of the antenna in presence of the carrier, and the reconstructed radiation pattern. A good match between the two curves is observed.
