The book is devoted to an in-depth analysis of the protection of the fundamental rights in the European Union system, with particular emphasis on the Charter of Fundamental Rights and the role of the European Court of Justice; the investigation takes into consideration the "law in action", with reference to the most relevant decisions of the ECJ and of the ECHR.
