Proposal for a backup acquisition, navigation and telemetry system for the LSPE CMB mission.

Description

The LSPE is a stratospheric balloon mission aimed at measuring the polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) at large angular scale and produces maps of foreground polarization. LSPE Mission will have to face difficult environmental conditions. A huge amount of data will be collected during the fly and it would be better to have at least a part of them available on ground to minimize the loss risk. A low power consumption and integrated system for data acquisition, storage and transmission as backup option for the LSPE flight is presented.
