Description
An ultra wide band antenna (UWB) with compact size is designed on a Roger 4003 substrate, fabricated, and tested in two different configurations (16.5*12.35 mm2 and 18.3*13.26 mm2). It achieves impedance bandwidth wider than 10 GHz (from 3.01 GHz / 3.3 GHz to more than 12 GHz). The antenna is studied for a single package solution of UWB impulse radio transceivers which integrate the pulse generator and the antenna in the same low cost device. The final devices including the feeding line have sizes of 50.7*17.7mm2 (47.3*40mm2) and transmit very high data rate.
