El Permanganato Potásico (Kmno4) en el Tratamiento de Aguas Residuales

El permanganato potásico es un potente y versátil oxidante químico cuyo empleo es cada vez más generalizado en múltiples sectores de la industria química y ambiental. En el campo del tratamiento de aguas residuales, su uso es también cada vez mayor. En el presente trabajo se describen las principales aplicaciones del permanganato potásico en sistemas de tratamiento de aguas residuales, tales como, eliminación de grasas y control de la corrosión, control y eliminación de olores, tratamiento y acondicionamiento de agua para riego agrícola, y tratamiento de aguas residuales industriales.

Abstract

The use of potassium permanganate has become widely accepted in many sectors of the chemical and environmental industry. Its success in the wastewater treatment field is due in part to its excellent qualities as an oxidant, to its versatility and to its ability to function over a wide pH range. This work is a brief discussion of the use of potassium permanganate for the control and removal of odors and grease, for the conditioning of water for agricultural uses and for the treatment of industrial wastewater.
