Erinnerung und Imagination: Das poetische Bild im Werk von Marica Bodrožić nach Gaston Bachelard
Description
The representation of memory and imagination are recurrent themes in Marica Bodrožić's work. Both elements are interwoven with the early childhood places in her country of origin. These spaces are continuously revisited, serving as a link between past, present and future. In order to develop new ways of interpretation for the staging of Bodrožić's sites of remembrance and reinvention, Gaston Bachelard's notions of memory and imagination will be used. It has been pointed out in recent studies that there is a significant lack of depth in the conceptual use of memory by approaching the term only from the field of Memory Studies. It therefore appears particularly relevant to situate memory in larger philosophical contexts. As this article demonstrates, Bachelard's considerations relating to imagination, memory and poetic creation are useful in understanding the writing and remembering process of the German writer
