De Mujeres, Museos y Redes sociales. Porque Museo viene de Musa

Esta investigación que venimos a exponer surge de la necesidad de devolver el nombre a esas mujeres que quedaron descritas en los inventarios de los museos como "hermana de", "esposa del pintor" o "señora de", y más concretamente en los del Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla. Los convencionalismos de la sociedad del XIX, en que eclosionan las instituciones museísticas, favorecieron este semianonimato que se ha asumido y perpetuado en el tiempo. La labor y el deber de los centros de enseñanza, en sus distintos niveles, y de las instituciones culturales, como los museos, es ser punta de lanza del rescate de la memoria de esas mujeres.

Abstract

The purpose of this research arises from the need of specifying the name of those women who were described as "sister of [the painter]", "wife of the painter" or "mother of [the painter]" in the inventories of the museums, specifically at the Museum of Fine Arts of Seville inventories. The traditional ideas of 19th century society -when museums flourished- favored this semi-anonymity that has been assumed and perpetuated for a long time. The work of educational centers, at their various levels, and cultural institutions, such as museums, is honoring those women´s memory
