Dual-Polarimetric Cosmo/Skymed SAR Data for Sea Monitoring

This paper presents a study on sea monitoring using remote sensing data. Dual-Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images, acquired by COSMOSkyMed satellites, are analyzed. A dataset of eight images acquired over Tyrrhenian Sea near Rome are used for the experiments. After a preliminary statistical analysis, an example of fast data-fusion and display is presented, able to visually enhance the added value of polarimetric couples in the analysis of marine phenomena.
