Interfacing ICU and CCU instrumentation; data acquisition and processing from monitoring tools

This paper presents the design of a system of data acquisition and monitoring in a modern intensive care unit and in a coronary care unit. A great emphasis was placed on the acceptability of this system, above all in the design of the user interface. This was due to the fact that in these two wards people were still using paper to record data and thus the refusal probability could be quite high.
