A new type of preparation to optimize esthetic in fixed prosthodontics: an in vitro study
Description
Aim Nowadays aesthetics is a fundamental feature in every dental treatment and reaserch is more and more oriented in this way. In fixed prosthodontics an evolution has been represented by collarless metal-ceramic crowns, that join proven mechanical properties of traditional metal-ceramic crowns and a better aesthetic in the cervical zone for the metal absence.(1)The goal of our work is to develop a new type of preparation( called "double chamfer")thinked only for collarless crowns, evaluating the possibility for dental technician to work on this new kind of preparation and mechanical properties of crowns, tested with a chewing robot.
