Legitimacy of Existence. Keys to Survival of Microenterprises [Dataset]

Description

The legitimacy of microenterprises has not been analyzed because their small size and the simplicity of their management, however, their global importance and their role in the economic system make them worthy of more attention. Many microenterprises consolidate over time and survive above the theoretical barrier of 15 years, which is a proof of legitimacy. To find out the legitimacy of micro-enterprises and to know what are the dimensions on which they are based, a survey was carried out aimed at microenterprises that have survived for 20 years or more. The total number of valid responses was 156 surveys (43.09%). The definition of constructs with legitimacy and its dimensions was carried out according to the typology of Díez-Martín et al. (2021) using a 7-point Likert scale from 1 (totally disagree) to 7 (totally agree). The responses of microenterprises with more than 20 years of existence, companies whose survival guarantees their legitimacy, were analyzed by PLS-SEM using SmartPLS 3.3.6 software.
