Antioxidant status in J7774A.1 macrophage cell line during chronic exposure to glycated serum

advanced glycation end-products (AGE) are linked to aging and correlated diseases. In this study we analysed both the cytotoxic and the oxidative/glycoxidative effects of 48 h exposure to subtoxic and subsequent toxic doses of AGE (ribose-glycated serum) in J774A.1 murine macrophage cells. the analysed end points (cytoxicity index, TBARs production pentosidine levels, GSH/GSSG, HsP70 suggest an adaptive response of macrophages to subtoxic doses of AGE
