1963-1973, dieci anni che (non) cambiarono il mondo

Modernity and postmodernity, avant-garde and radicalism stand side by side and succeed each other in the story told here, running from 1963 to 1973. Its main characters are the literature and architecture of that period, with semiotics in the background. 1963 is the year when the Italian 'economic miracle' reached its peak, and it is also the year when the literary movement Gruppo 63 was born; 1973 is the year of the founding of the architectural movement Global Tool, a dead-born attempt to bring together various radical architects into a kind of 'Supergroup'. It is also the year the first economic recession since the Second World War. Between the two dates, '68' – an eponymous number – is there to remind the culmination of the first global cultural phenomenon in history, and to set the tone for the entire decade under consideration.
