Polarization diversity study using UWB antennas for detecting pipes
Description
This paper shows the interest to use a synthetic pulse radar system with ultra wide band antennas as sensors to improve the resolution of B-Scan images. The sensors are antennas based on the Vivaldi concept which have a bandwidth greater than one decade. Measurements were made on the LCPC geophysical test site and applied to pipe detection. Various polarization configurations have been studied showing the interest to use the polarization diversity to characterize the detected objects.
