An analytical orthonormal set of basis functions for 2D nonradiating current is derived and their possible use to improve the solution to the inverse scattering by dielectric objects is assessed. Preliminary numerical investigation shows the capabilities of this set of currents in enhancing the solution to an inverse scattering problem.

An analytical approach to shape reconstruction of dielectric scatterers is proposed. It is assumed that the cross-section of the scatterer does not depend on the z coordinate, hence a 2-D problem can be formulated. A closed-form singular value decomposition of the scattering integral operator is derived and is used to determine the radiating...

A closed-form expansion of radiating and non- radiating currents is used in an equivalent inverse source problem, in order to solve the original inverse scattering problem and provide a method for electromagnetic imaging. Preliminary numerical investigation are performed by using a mixed inverse-direct scattering approach. Simulations show the...

A new approach to solve the inverse electromagnetic scattering problem is presented. A closed-form expansion of radiating and non-radiating sources is used in an equivalent inverse source problem, together with a detection of the minimum convex scattering domain, in order to solve the original inverse scattering problem and to provide a method...

This paper deals with the problem of the reconstruction of scattering objects illuminated by electromagnetic sources, when only limited-angle data are available. By starting from a previously developed semi-analytical method that in principle would require the knowledge of the scattered data over a circular domain, using some window functions,...
